Purpose
The Purpose of our student ministry is very simple:
Love God, Love People, and Live Loud.
It is our belief that Jesus
Christ challenges each student to do these three things. Our purpose
statement comes from two different Scripture passages. The first
passage, Matthew 22:37-39. In those verses, Jesus is responding to
the question, "What is the greatest commandment?" He responds by
saying, "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all
your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest
commandment. And the second is like it: Love your neighbor as
yourself." We feel strongly that students should "Live Loud," and
carry their faith outside the walls of the church. This takes the
form of ministry, evangelism, and missions. We draw this point of
our purpose statement from Ephesians 2:10. That verse says, "For we
are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works." We
are undoubtedly saved by grace alone, and then God's grace motivates
us to share Christ with all we encounter. I firmly believe that if
students embrace these three concepts, we can and will see local,
national, and international revival. |
