Don't miss out on the biggest thing we do ALL YEAR! We are super
excited about Disciple Now 2009. The theme this year is Recalled.
There is restlessness in Christianity today, the kind of
restlessness that comes from knowing something is wrong but not
being sure what that something is. It’s the restlessness someone who
bought a new car feels a few months later when the car’s
transmission starts malfunctioning and he discovers it has been
recalled because of a manufacturing defect. It’s the restlessness
someone feels the day after trading a one-of-a-kind Mickey Mantle
rookie card for a run-of-the-mill Alex Rodriguez offering. It’s a
restlessness that lies just below the surface of all we do and say,
yet still affects everything in its reach. It’s a restlessness that
suggests a deeper problem – that we are Christians who have missed
Christ. At its heart, Christianity is the story of redemption.
Simply concentrating on conversion leaves us with a half-gospel, a
pseudo-Christianity that cannot compare with the redemption of our
God who is in the process of making all things new. But in our quest
to be converted, to have assurance, to be right, we have forgotten
that God calls us to be redeemed, to have impact, to be good.
Thankfully, we are RECALLED to a new kind of life. God is reclaiming
the world through his redemptive work, and he wants us to reclaim
the story of redemption in our lives and in our world.
The cost for the whole weekend (includes all your
meals, materials, tshirt, housing, rec, etc.) is $65. That is due by
January 21.

Our worship leader this year is Casey Darnell. Casey is an awesome worship leader that leads at
Northpoint Community Church and also at Buckhead Church. Check out
his website and music.
here.

Our communicator will be Dave Rhodes.
Dave unearths memorable insights
about God and life with a subversive approach that creates a
welcomed disturbance to the status quo.
In all of the intersections he creates, he leads
people to hear the voice of God and trust the heart of God enough so
that they act on what they’ve heard. Dave was one of the co-founders
of Wayfarer in 2000, and he
serves as lead strategist, helping us continually develop and refine
our vision. He graduated from Palm Beach Atlantic College and earned
his Master of Divinity degree from Beeson Divinity School. Dave and
his wife Kim have two children, Emma and Izzie.
