What's New at FBC

Welcome to the First Baptist Church "What's New" page.  Here you will find things that are going on at First Baptist Church including announcements and events.  If you have news that you would like to add,  send it to us at news@fbclagrange.org and we'll do our best to publish it here!

  • Korean Baptist Mission
With 35 potential congregates, James Yu took a leap of faith moving to this small west Georgia town to preach the gospel in Korean. But the Baptist minister isn't worried. A $1.2 billion Kia Motors Corp. auto plant under construction in nearby West Point gives him hope for a larger audience for his message.  Yu was recruited by the Georgia Baptist Convention to help pave the biblical way for an expected increase in Koreans moving to Troup County, which lies along the Alabama border about 75 miles southwest of Atlanta. He left a job preaching at a Korean church in Atlanta to start New Heaven Baptist Mission on the Square, a mission of First Baptist Church on the Square.
  • First Baptist Church Upward Basketball and Cheerleading
Upward Basketball and Upward Cheerleading offer a break from the norm. The primary focus of Upward is to develop the Winner in EVERY child, not just a few. By keeping this goal in mind, we are able to build a league that promotes salvation, character, and self-esteem in all who participate.  Registration and Evaluations will be held October 2007 in the FBC Christian Family Life Center.  To learn more about the Upward ministries pick up a brochure at the Activities Ministry office or click here to visit the Upward Basketball pages or click here to visit the cheerleading page.  For additional information, call the Activities Ministry office at (706) 884-5570.
