The philosophy of the First Baptist Church Child Development Center is based on the recognition that the finest in early childhood education and care occurs in an environment of love and support. Our center is a ministry of our church. We seek to be an extension of the basic framework of the Christian family and place emphasis on the development of the whole child.
Our center is open from 7:00 am until 5:30 pm Monday through Friday. We provide care for children ages 6 weeks through four years of age.
Our curriculum is based on what is developmentally appropriate for each child. We strive to work within a coherent framework so that each child as he or she continues through our center will be able to build and expand the skills and knowledge gained earlier.
Our program encourages:
- Spiritual Development – emphasizing the love of God
- Emotional Development – building a positive self-image
- Intellectual Development – developing positive attitudes toward learning
- Social Development – exhibiting respect for ourselves and others
- Physical Development – developing fine and gross motor skills
We have a music program and our facilities are well equipped including two outdoor playgrounds. Our Christian Family Life Center provides an indoor gymnasium play area for cold and rainy day activities. We provide nutritious lunches and snacks daily.
