Spring Break 2007 Western Tour - Wagons Ho!!!
March 30 - April 6, 2007

Our church family experienced a wonderful 2007 spring break trip, exploring some of the most inspiring examples of God's creation.  We flew out of Atlanta on Friday evening, March 30, 2007 and began our Western Tour.  We landed in Las Vegas, Nevada late that evening and checked into the Circus Circus hotel.  Saturday morning we traveled west again and spent the morning visiting the beautiful formations of Red Rock Canyon.  We spent the rest of the afternoon touring Hoover Dam.

Sunday our group trekked eastward from Las Vegas to Grand Canyon National Park.  Our journey was a scenic route, including Route 66, so that we could enjoy the vistas as we made our way to the south rim of the Grand Canyon.  Monday was reserved to visit the Grand Canyon.  Our group was free to schedule their own helicopter tour, travel into the canyon on a donkey or stay with the group and take in the sites available through the National Park service!

Tuesday began our southern swing into Arizona and a taste of Native American Indian culture with a visit to the Wupatki National Monument in route to Sedona, Arizona.  We traveled east before reaching Sedona and toured the Petrified Forest National Park.  We made a stop at Black Bart's Steak House and then checked into our hotel for a leisurely evening.

We stayed in Sedona on Wednesday and continued our trip with a visit to Red Rock State Park, considered by many to be one of the most beautiful areas in the west.  Guests who wanted to could travel back to Meteor Crater and Walnut Canyon National Monument or visit more of the Sedona area.

Thursday we toured historic Indian cave dwellings at Montezuma Castle National Monument and Tuzigoot National Monument in route to Phoenix, Arizona.

Our stay in Phoenix included an afternoon trip to Rawhide, an authentic frontier town which is Arizona's largest western themed attraction.  We enjoyed a western steak dinner while at Rawhide to wrap up our western tour.  Friday was a travel day to return to Atlanta and finally back home to LaGrange.
